Get Certified

In order to be listed as an “Active” and certified coach you must complete the requirements outlined below.

Once you have completed all four of these requirements you will be in compliance with the new USA Rugby Coaching standards and will be eligible to receive full member benefits such as coaching insurance.

  • Start at www.usarugby.org click on “Register” (the red button in the top right corner of the home page)

    • Type in your club name in to the editable field. Once you have entered your club’s name, click “search”.
    • A list of clubs that fulfill your search criteria will appear below the search field.
    • Click “Register” next to the club that you are coaching.

Choose whether you are registering yourself or your child.  If you are a parent registering your child choose child.  If you are registering yourself choose, myself.  If you want to register both choose myself first and you can register your child at the end.

Choose the role “Coach” when prompted to select your role.  You can choose others later on and pay for the highest roles price at the end.

Note that your Union, Collegiate Conference or State Rugby Organization may charge their fees through our database. Please go to https://www.usarugby.org/membership-fees to see a list of USA Rugby membership fees.

    Then enter your personal information.

Next read and electronically sign the waiver and then proof all information entered. Finally, proceed to checkout and enter the information prompted.  When complete you will receive a confirmation email with your registration information.

  • As Part of USA Rugby’s ongoing efforts to emphasize player safety within the sport, every coach is required to complete a biennial background screening. This process is handled automatically upon your registration as a coach and requires no action from you as the coach to complete.

*If you were registered through a bulk upload please contact the USAR membership department to initiate this process.
