The Coach Development Program was designed and continues to evolve to meet the needs of American coaches. By basing the course content on material from the International Rugby Board (IRB), the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), USA Rugby maintains currency with the latest thinking in coaching in general and coaching rugby in particular. By adapting this content for the US context, the best course and approach for US coaches has been developed.
While the initial goal is to develop coaches, if we are successful in this we will also enhance the rugby experience of the players and teams and everyone associated with the game. Two certification workshops are currently available: Introducing Rugby and Developing Rugby Skills.
To become a certified coach, you must meet the Certification Requirements.
