Lockwood played soccer at Canby High in Oregon before joining the Oregon State University women's rugby program. She was selected to the USA Rugby AIG Women's Junior All-Americans in 2010 and the AIG Women's Collegiate All-Americans in 2013. Lockwood is also a USA Rugby-certified coach and referee.
