Present Coverage of HSBC Sevens World Series
from Japan This Weekend
Los Angeles and New York – March 29, 2012 – Universal Sports Network and the NBC Sports Network will continue their joint presentation of the 2011-12 HSBC Sevens World Series with four hours of coverage from Japan. During the seventh stop of the World Series, both networks’ coverage will include several full matches during the two-hour telecasts along with highlights from the entire tournament. In addition, UniversalSports.com will provide live streaming of the event for $4.99 or the full season’s offerings for $29.99.
Coverage begins Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET on Universal Sports Network, followed at 10:30 p.m. ET by the NBC Sports Network.
Both networks’ match coverage will feature play-by-play announcer Bill Seward alongside analyst Brian Hightower, former USA Sevens captain.
Pool A will feature last week’s Hong Kong Sevens champion Fiji as well as England, France and Japan. Pool B consists of overall series leader New Zealand, Australia, United States and Hong Kong. Pool C includes Argentina, Wales, Kenya and Russia. Pool D will showcase South Africa, Samoa, Scotland and Portugal. In addition to New Zealand in the top spot, Fiji, South Africa, England and Samoa round out the top five, with other top tier nations competing including Australia, France and Wales, 13th ranked United States and host country Japan.
