USAR Welcomes Arizona SBRO

USA Rugby is happy to welcome the most recent addition to the ever-growing network of State-Based Rugby Organizations (SBROs).  The Arizona Youth Rugby Organization is the 27th SBRO and will start as a Level 1 or "Emerging" status.

"The Arizona Youth Rugby Organization has a strong base of youth coaches and refs," said USA Rugby Youth Development Manager, Erin Kennedy.  "We are tickled pink to have Arizona on board as part of the SBRO movement."

The organization will benefit from being part of a network of dynamic grassroots organizations helmed by passionate leaders and administrators.  SBROs also receive finanical support from USA Rugby through various grant programs.

Rugby developments in Arizona are coming at breakneck pace.  Last week Arizona State University announced that it will release its varsity football players to compete in rugby in the Spring.

SBROs have proven to be a successful means to empower and tool local rugby organizations in preparation for unprecedented participation in the sport.  USA Rugby set the goal to have 30 SBROs by 2012.
