Sports Medicine Symposium in Vegas
BOULDER, Colo. – USA Rugby today announced details for the 2013 USA Rugby Sports Medicine Symposium, a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity for all involved in rugby player welfare. The fourth installment of the Symposium will coincide with the HSBC Sevens World Series in Las Vegas, Nev., from Thursday to Friday, February 7-8.
The medical conference provides state-of-the-art education to help physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, physician assistants, healthcare students, nurses and massage therapists to continue to provide the best medical care for those that participate in the game of rugby. Last year's conference had 120 participants from 14 different countries.
The Sports Medicine Symposium, hosted by Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, is a great opportunity to network with peers and includes a standout group of speakers, including the head team physician for USA Rugby 7s, David Chao, who will discuss a wide range of sports medicine topics.
Day one of the Symposium will solely be focused on concussions in the game, while day two will cover such topics as injury evaluation, diagnosis, and rehabilitation. There will also be live surgical demonstrations done on cadavers.
This is the only conference exclusive to international healthcare providers for the rugby game. With the Las Vegas Sevens in action, the Symposium is also a great opportunity to witness the best players and medical professionals from around the world.
