Atlanta 7s tickets on sale for April 8-9
BOULDER, Colo. - Tickets for HSBC Atlanta 7s at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University went on sale Wednesday, less than three months out from kickoff in the Peach State and seven months from the Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games.
The USA Women's Eagles Sevens are currently 11th in the HSBC World Rugby Women's Sevens Series standings after the opening round in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Head Coach Jules McCoy, the residency athletes training full-time at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., and the greater Eagles pool are awaiting the second leg of the season, set for Sao Paulo at the end of February.
The Eagles will then return home to prepare for the April 8-9 tournament on home soil not 30 miles from the site of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Summer Games. Kennesaw has hosted the U.S. leg of the Women's Sevens Series for the past two seasons, combining the rugby-mad populace in places like nearby Marietta and the Olympic legacy of the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
"Kennesaw State University's Fifth Third Bank Stadium is a venue we look forward to visiting each year, and it's even more exciting in an Olympic year," USA Rugby International Events Director Kellie Cavalier said. "Fans looking forward to the action in Rio can't miss this exciting last chance to see Sevens competition right here at home."
Spectators can purchase single-day tickets for HSBC Atlanta 7s via Ticket Alternative starting at just $12, with two-day packages available from $20. A 'Saturday Social' package is also available, which includes two adult beverages along with a ticket for the competition's final day. Inquiries for suites and premium spaces should be directed to USA Rugby Sponsorship Manager Justine Bauder (email@example.com). Groups of 10 or more may call KSU's box office for discounted tickets (470-578-4849).
The international festival also returns to the stadium's concourse, featuring culture and cuisine from the countries participating and others. Additionally, the High School, College, and Club Rugby Festival will expand to accommodate more teams interested in playing rugby alongside future Olympians.
