First15, USA Rugby team up to manage Women’s Rugby Super Series, additional USA Women’s National Team competitions in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY - First15 Sport Performance is proud to partner with USA Rugby to take on the administrative functions of managing the second year of the Women's Rugby Super Series competition taking place in Salt Lake City. Rugby Utah and Utah Sports Commission have also played a major role in bringing women's national squads from Canada, England, France, and the USA Women's Eagles to Regional Athletic Complex for this elite level round-robin tournament.

All national squads are set to make use of training facilities at University of Utah in preparation for competition on July 1, 5, and 9. Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) provides a high-quality and scenic backdrop for this competition that serves as a critical element of the preparation process leading to Women's Rugby World Cup 2017. The Women's Rugby Super Series competition returns to North America after being held in Alberta, Canada, in 2015. All matches will be played on RAC's high-quality championship athletic field and facilitated by First15 Sport Performance as key providers of sport and event management services.

"It is a privilege for First15 to work with USA Rugby to manage the Women's Rugby Super Series," First15 Director of Operations Katie Sjeklocha said. "We look forward to providing excellent service to all of the dedicated team staff members from all competing unions to bring this high-caliber International competition in Salt Lake City to life. The support from the University of Utah, the Utah Sports Commission, and Rugby Utah has been critical throughout the planning process, and we look forward to being a part of history in International women's rugby."

The state of Utah regularly utilizes RAC to host elite sport competitions on the 140-acre facility that features a total of 16 high-caliber fields, all within 15 minutes of Salt Lake City International Airport. Included in its regular event schedules are competitions directed by members of the state-wide Utah rugby community, whose volunteer efforts have been integral to preparing for the Super Series event. As the governing body of rugby within the state, Rugby Utah has worked tirelessly to create opportunities to promote elite competitions, professional management, and grass roots development.

In addition to the senior national team athletes participating in the Super Series, First15 and USA Rugby will also be hosting top prospects for the AIG Women's Collegiate All-Americans (WCAA) and AIG Women's Junior All-Americans' (WJAA) Stars and Stripes developmental matches July 2. Athletes participating in these assemblies have the opportunity to be selected to represent the WCAA side against Canada Maple Leafs in curtain-raisers for the second and final competition dates of the Super Series July 5 and 9. Around 130 athletes will be featured in a USA jersey at multiple levels of competition throughout the first week in July. Hosting these unique events all in one location is a testament to the commitment and adaptable nature of the elite competitors and respective management organizations.
