Pool schedule, tickets released for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2017

LAFAYETTE, Colo. - The pool play schedule for Women's Rugby World Cup 2017 in Ireland has been released, as have tickets for the pool stages.

The USA Women's Eagles open the competition - the eighth incarnation of the World Cup and seventh since the U.S. won the 1991 event - in Pool B against Italy Wednesday, Aug. 9. The remaining pool matches against Spain and England are set for Sunday, Aug. 13, and Thursday, Aug. 17, respectively. Two sites at University College, Dublin - UCD Bowl and Billings Park - will host all pool stage matches throughout the opening weeks of the tournament, with the Eagles' first two matches scheduled for the former.

Semifinal and placing matches will move north to Queen's University and Kingspan Stadium in Belfast, while the latter will be the site of the Aug. 26 World Cup Final. The venue is owned by Irish Rugby Football Union, home to world-renowned Irish club Ulster Rugby, and can seat more than 18,000 fans.

Tickets for the pool matches are now on sale, starting around $10 (US) for games at Billings Park and about $15 (US) for those at UCD Bowl. Tickets for the Semifinals and Finals Day matches are still available, as well, and can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
