College 7s Returns to Infinity Park

USA Rugby has announced that they will be returning to Glendale’s Infinity Park for the 2018 College 7s National Championships.

Glendale, Co - USA Rugby has announced that they will be returning to Glendale's Infinity Park for the 2018 College 7s National Championships. The College 7s will take place during the May 18th -20th weekend, where the best sides from Men's and Women's D1 and D2 will compete against each other. For those unable to attend, the games will be available via The Rugby Channel.

As the academic year winds down  so too will the college rugby season, and as May approaches teams will be fighting tooth and nail to get one of the coveted spots in the tournament.

There are few spots to the tournament available. Men's D1 and D2 have 16 and 12 spots available respectively, while, Women's D1 and D2 both have 8 spots to fill. With so many teams vying for so few spots the level of competition seen will be of the highest quality.

Some teams have already begun the qualifying process for the tournament with many of the West Coast teams participating in their 7s season during the fall, and developing their resumes. Most of the East coast will play through the Spring in an attempt to qualify for the tournament.

Returning to Glendale was an easy decision for USA Rugby, according to Rich Cortez, Collegiate Director: "Infinity Park is the most inviting place to play College 7s, given the proximity of the fans to the field. The professionalism of their staff and their ability to produce these events is without peer."

This sentiment was echoed by James Wilber, the National Championships & Competitions Manager at USA Rugby: "The friendly confines of Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado, are truly a fitting backdrop for such a memorable event. One of the most fundamental, yet integral ways USA Rugby can support these athletes is to provide a fitting championship venue. Infinity Park offers that gold standard."
