As Season Wanes, Leaders Come Into Focus

Pacific Northwest Women's Division II

When asked what he thought about the Tacoma Sirens' season thus far, former USA Eagle and current Tacoma head coach, Chad Erskine, exclaimed "our defense is phenomenal...The heart and guts is the most impressive part...We just have a real gutsy team that plays with a lot of grit, and that shows up on defense."  That defense was tested as the lead changed twice in the first half.  The second half brought another lead change then a knotted up score, with Eugene Reign scoring 2 tries in the final 15 minutes to seal the victory. Eugene winning 34-22.

Emerald City Mudhens put up 39 points against Oregon Sports Union (ORSU) D2's 5, while Portland Lady Pigs dominated Budd Bay Bandits 78-10.

Northern California Women's Division II

Santa Rosa Black Roses fell at home to San Francisco Golden Gate (SFGG) 5-51.  Life West Gladiatrix D2  forfeited to Sacramento Amazons.

Samurai Sportswear Pacific Rugby Premiership

Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) remained undefeated against Olympic Club 46-10.  SFGG came from behind and maintained possession of second for another week by tying 3rd ranked Belmont Shore 36-36.  Life West Gladiators never let the Santa Monica Dolphins come up for air in a hard fought game, 20-17. 

Northern California Men's DII

Vacaville Old Dogs moved ahead of SFGG D2 with an upset win 34-24, while Sacramento Capitals blanked East Palo Alto Razorbacks 28-0 and San Jose Seahawks soared into Santa Rosa 52-23 and flew away with the win.

Pacific Northwest Men's DII

Snake River held off visiting ORSU 55-32 in an important game, as first place in the ranks is still up for grabs, and may yet come down to points between the top 3 teams.  On the top, however is Eastside.  This weekend, Valley Kangaroos couldn't hold back the wave and fell to the Tsunami 8-16.  Elsewhere, Tacoma Nomads won a spirited game against Portland Pigs 36-34, despite being down 6 points at the half.

Northern California Men's DIIIB

San Joaquin-Stanislaus remained undefeated as they muzzled the Central Coast Beach Dogs 47-0.  San Francisco Fog ran into more than a slight breeze at Reno Zephyrs 33-40.  Sacramento Blackhawks B never let up as they leveled Shasta Highlanders 73-0.
