Frontier Region Enjoys A Weekend of Big Results

The Frontier Region continued Spring play this weekend, as teams from the Rocky Mountain and Mid-America Conference took to the field. In total there were seven games this weekend, six men's games and one for the women.

Women's Division II: Mid America

Over the weekend the Kansas City Jazz welcomed the visiting Wichita Valkyries into town. There was nothing too hospitable for the visitors though as they were soundly beaten, 41-5. Chloe Weston, and Lauren Kuklenski conducted the jazz. Weston, the number eight, crossed the white line for a brace during the game; while, Kuklenski, the team's inside center, contributed 16 points with two tries and three conversions.  The Jazz continue to sit on top of the divisional table.

Men's Divsion II: Mid-America

In a double up for the city of Kansas City, the men of Kansas City Rugby defeated the Omaha Goats 55-14.

Men's Division II: Rocky Mountain

In the Rocky Mountain's second division two games were played. Neither of them were close. Glendale Merlins D2 fell to Boulder Rugby, 50-10. In the second match played it was the Denver Barbarians who came out on top over their cross town rivals the Denver Harlequins, 66-6. This game got off to a close start with the Harlequins trailing 6-7 15 minutes into the game, but the Barbarians came back to score 59 unanswered points, and maintained their firm grasp on first place in the division.

Men's Division III: Rocky Mountain

The third division saw two upsets this weekend, with the Littleton Eagles beating the Colorado Springs Grizzlies, 38-36. This was the first loss that the Grizzlies had suffered all year. They had beaten the Eagles in their previous two encounters this season. The Grizzlies still, despite their blemish, are the top team on their ladder. The second upset that came this weekend came from the Northern Colorado Flamingos defeating the Queen City Rams, 35-25. With this win the Flamingos leapfrogged the Rams and currently enjoy 3rd spot on the ladder.

Men's Division IV: Rocky Mountain
Frontier's final game of the weekend was played between the D4 sides of the Denver Barbarians and the Denver Harlequins. Unfortunately, for the Harlequins it was more of the same with the Barbarians running away with it 72-7.
