St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans in Pacific Northwest

Women's Division II: Pacific Northwest:
Bend Lady Roughriders showed why they are on top, galloping into Oregon Sports Union D2 and winning 5-46.  Emerald City Mudhens were at home and inched closer to the top of the standings, beating Chuckanut Bay Geoducks 21-0. 

Women's Division II: Northern California:
An anticipated game between San Francisco Golden Gate (SFGG) and Life West D2 did not take place, as the Gladiatrix unfortunately forfeit the previous day, leaving SFGG still in the hunt.   

Samurai Sportswear Pacific Rugby Premiership
Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) easily handled Santa Monica Dolphins, 41-3.  Underdog Life West Gladiators came from behind and beat Belmont Shore 17-19.  SFGG and Olympic Club swapped leads a couple times, with SFGG coming out on top 44-31

Men's Division II: Pacific Northwest:
Snake River, was busier than a leprechaun guarding gold this St. Patrick's Day, as they handed Tacoma Nomads a tough loss 50-5 in league play. They then went on to win a small tournament hosted by their cross-town brothers, 43rd State.  They played DIII powerhouse Bend in the final.  No score in the first half, but Snake slithered away with a 17-5 victory at the final whistle.  The tournament featured 10 teams from around the region. 

Elsewhere, Eastside Tsunami gained top position by drowning ORSU 25-34. Portland Pigs were outpaced at home by visiting Valley Kangaroos, 17-32.

Men's Division II: Northern California:
Life West Gladiators D2 beat San Jose Seahawks, 27-12, while Vacaville Old Dogs and Bay Area Baracus raced to a score of 50-40, with the visiting dogs howling in victory.  Sacramento Blackhawks travelled to East Palo Alto and narrowly beat the Razorbacks 29-34, while SFGG D2 defended home turf against Santa Rosa 43-21, despite giving up a try in the 3rd minute of the game and then going down a man, via a small yellow square, mid-way through the first half.    

Men's Division III: Pacific Northwest:
Speaking of the Roughriders, Bend were victorious in league play, as they handled 43rd State Crimson Lions 25-10. 

Men's Division IIIA: Northern California:
Diablo Old Gaels easily pushed their way past Berkeley 19-66, holding steady in the ranks while the number one Colusa County was upset by Chico Mighty Oaks 31-41.  Colusa remains in first by points, with only a one-point margin between them and Diablo.  Google had a hard time with visiting Redwood Empire 22-38. 

Men's Division IIIB: Northern California:
Mendocino Steam Donkeys upset visiting Central Coast Beach Dogs, sending them back to the kennels after a 39-29 win.  Sacramento Blackhawks B cleared the San Francisco Fog by a score of 38-52.  The Reno Zephyrs and San Joaquin-Stanislaus game was cancelled.
