Pacific South Clubs Battle for a Playoff Berth

With time running out teams are becoming desperate for wins.

San Francisco Golden Gate earned a crucial bonus point in their 26-15 victory over Life West Gladiators launching them to a three-way tie for first place with Old Mission Beach Athletic (OMBAC) and Belmont Shore. The final regular season matches on April 28 will determine who moves to the grand final playoff on May 5 on OMBAC's home pitch in San Diego.

Men's Division II
Red Mountain Warthogs beat Back Bay Sharks 57-26. San Fernando Valley lost at home 19-40 against the Northern Arizona Landsharks. Ventura County Outlaws' number ten, Dakota Reistad, put down a try and a conversion in the 52nd minute to take the lead and ultimate 20-19 win over the Temple Old Devils. Pasadena Rugby won at home 22-18 over the San Diego Old Aztecs. Oceanside Chiefs traveled to the Huntington Beach to secure a 69-31 win over the Unicorns. The Las Vegas Irish were victorious over Los Angeles Rugby 65-22.   

The quarterfinal playoffs on April 28 have Pasadena (A1) hosting the San Diego Old Aztecs (B2). Oceanside Chiefs (B1) will host San Fernando Valley (A2). Las Vegas Irish (C1) are hosting Ventura County Outlaws (wildcard 2). Red Mountain Warthogs (C2) are host to Temple Old Devils (wildcard 1). The winners will move to the semi-final playoffs on May 5.


Men's Division III
In the SoCal division, the OC Ravens won on the road, 29-20, against the North County Gurkhas. OC Ravens will face leader Beaumont Blackhawks on April 28. In the Arizona and Rio Grande divisions, Santa Fe Santos toppled Phoenix Rugby 22-19, while El Paso Scorpions lost to the Tucson Magpies. Sante Fe Santos then battled Tucson to cinch the finals berth, 27-19. Sante Fe will meet the winner of the OC Ravens versus Beaumont Bluehawks.

Men's Division IV
South Bay Stingrays unleashed on the San Diego Armada 78-19. Dead Rabbits met Los Angeles Rebellion and Temecula Mountain Lions faced Oxy Olde Boys, but scores were not available.

Women's Division I
It was a bye week in the Women's DI as they prepare for the Championship on April 28. The undefeated Tempe Ninjas will take on Belmont Shore in Tempe. 

Women's Division II
The Las Vegas Slots will battle season leader Old Pueblo Lightening for the Championship on April 28 in Tempe.
