Pacific South Teams Battle with Playoffs in Sight

Many teams had their final preparations before the playoffs begin in the Pacific South.

Samurai Sportswear Pacific Rugby Premiership:
San Francisco Golden Gate has given the PRP leaders a run for their money including handing Old Mission Athletic Club their second loss of the season. San Francisco struck at the 20th minute and held firm throughout the match with a final score of 41-22 on their home field. Six different players contributed a try for San Francisco. Olympic Club won at home 38-29 over Life West Gladiators. Belmont Shore locked in their tie for first place with a come from behind try in the 78th minute to win 40-35.

Men's Division II:
San Diego Old Aztecs won on the road, 49-27, over Tempe Old Devils. The Las Vegas Irish, leaders in Group C, beat the Ventura County Outlaws, 47-17. Huntington Beach Unicorns lost at home to the Red Mountain Warthogs, 14-47. In the battle of the sharks, the Back Bay Sharks toppled the Northern Arizona Landsharks 43-29. Group A leaders, Pasadena Rugby, traveled down to LA to beat Los Angeles Rugby, 50-34. The Oceanside Chiefs, who sit atop the Group B division, were victorious 64-5 over San Fernando Valley.  There is just one week of regular season DII matches left before the playoffs embark on April 28.

 Men's Division III:
A quiet bye weekend in DIII as they rest up for the April 21 playoffs.

Men's Division IV:

San Diego Armada clenched a 42-31 win over the Temecula Mountain Lions. South Bay Stingrays took out the home team, Los Angeles Rebellion, 50-43.

Women's Division I:
The Santa Monica Dolphins dominated second place Belmont Shore in a 35-5 victory on their home pitch. Number 15, Anna Kobara, and number 13, Jacqueline Davisson, put down two tries each with three other teammates adding to the seven total tries.

Women's Division II:
The final week of regular season had the Ventura County Outlaws conquering the Santa Barbara Mermaids 72-31.  April 21 sees the tied Las Vegas Slots in a playoff battle with Pasadena Rugby.
