USA Rugby’s Southern Division Spends Saturday Wrapping Up In-State Playoffs

The Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, and True South Rugby clubs wrapped up their seasons with in-state and inter-region finals this past Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22.  All of these clubs get a weekend off before the USA Rugby’s Southern Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6. 

Women's Regional Finals

The Charlotte RFC stifled the Augusta Furies 89-21.

The Atlanta Harlequins blanked the Eno River Rage 72-0.

The Fort Miami RFC finished its Florida season perfect, following its 50-5 drubbing of the Orlando Griffins RFC.

True South
The Knoxville Minx won the True South Women's Rugby title, following their defeats over the Memphis Flamingos (45-19), the Louisiana Lagniappe (44-33), and finally the Nashville Stone Lions (32-10).

Division II Conference Finals

The Miami Tridents beat the Boca Raton Buccaneers 27-17 to win Florida's Division II championship.

True South 
The Birmingham Vulcans wrapped up their season with a 44-24 win over the Nashville RFC.

The New Orleans RFC narrowly nosed by the Chattanooga RFC 34-32.

Division III Finals

Florida Division III Championship
The Palm Beach Panthers maintained their perfect record after handing the Gainesville Hogs 24-10 pounding.

Carolinas Division III Championship
The Asheville RFC narrowly edged by the Charlotte Barbarians 22-17 to claim the Carolinas Championship.

Georgia Division III Semifinals:
The Savannah Shamrocks pushed through the Atlanta Renegades D3, 38-17 to book their spot in the championship game. Their opponent would be the winner of the Augusta Maddogs and High Country Rugby match. This game was a fairly routine victory for the Maddogs who walked away victorious 27-10.
