Frontier Ties Up Loose Ends In Preparations For Playoffs

In another quiet weekend in the Frontier Region matches were played in Men's Division II and III and one match was played in the Women's Division II

Rocky Mountain Men's Division II: 
In a playoff match to determine who would face the Saint Louis Royals for the Division II title in the Frontier the Denver Barbarians came up against the Park City Haggis. The game was lopsided ended with Denver advancing 71-7. The winner of the Barbarians and Royals will go on to represent the Frontier Region at the National Quarterfinals. 

Boulder Rugby beat the Denver Highlanders to finish the season in the season in 3rd. The game originally looked as if it was going to be a tight contest, however, Boulder were able to create some separation from the Highlanders, towards the end of the first half to take a slight lead into the break, 15-7. From there the teams swapped tries in the second half to keep the deficit the same at full time as it was at half time. Boulder winning 29-21. 

Rocky Mountain Men's Division III:
The only match of the weekend in the third division saw the Northern Colorado Flamingos take on the Queen City Rams to determine who would finish in 3rd on the table this year. Northern Colorado grabbed the rams by the horns early and were able, within the first thirty minutes, opening up a 22 point lead. From there the Rams were able to answer strike back, but for every time that the Rams scored the Flamingos had an answer. Ultimately the Flamingos won 36-14.

Mid America Women's Division II:
The Wichita Valkyries capped off their season with a comprehensive 55-10 victory over the Kansas Bison. While, they will not be competing in the National Quarterfinals, they will head to Springfield to fight it out for the title of 3rd in the division this weekend.
