PacSouth Men Are Still Battling for Slot in Fort Worth, While Women Crowned Their Club Champions

Every game carried extra weight this weekend as teams try desperately to book their spots in Dallas for the National Quarterfinals.

Samurai Sportswear Pacific Rugby Premiership
In the battle for the extra point and to determine the Grand Final in the Pacific Rugby Premiership, Belmont Shore and Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) came out on top.  Belmont Shore claimed victory over Life West Gladiators, 34-19. OMBAC beat Santa Monica 26-7. San Francisco Golden Gate met Olympic Club and won 53-14. 

OMBAC will host Belmont Shore on their home pitch this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.  The winner will move forward to the Western Club Championships in Fort Worth, TX May 19-20.  Also, on Saturday, May 5 in San Diego, Santa Monica will face Olympic Club at 11:00 a.m., and San Francisco Golden Gate plays Life West at 1:00 p.m.

Men's DII
In the April 28 DII quarterfinals, Pasadena lost at home to the San Diego Old Aztecs 20-24. Oceanside Chiefs won against San Fernando Valley, 41-24. The Las Vegas Irish beat Ventura County Outlaws 38-25.  The Tempe Old Devils won on the road 37-32 against the Red Mountain Warthogs.   

The May 5 semi-finals have Oceanside Chiefs meeting the Temple Old Devils, and Las Vegas Irish facing San Diego Old Aztecs.

 
Men's Division III
In the SoCal division playoff, the Beaumont Bluehawks beat the OC Ravens 44-24.  The Bluehawks will travel this weekend to face the Santa Fe Santos, who secured the Arizona/Rio Grande division the week prior. 

 

Men's Division IV
The Dead Rabbits met the South Bay Stingrays for a tight match with the Stingrays coming out on top 57-52.


Women's Division I - Pacific South Club Championship

The Tempe Ninjas continued their undefeated reign and earned their Western Club Championship berth with a 55-20 win over Belmont Shore.

 
Women's Division II - Pacific South Club Championship
Old Pueblo Lightening secured the win and Pacific South Club Championship with a 61-31 victory over the Las Vegas Slots.  The Lightening will travel to Fort Worth, TX May 19-20 for the Women's DII Western Club Championships.
