New Location Same Looks in the Northwest RCT

Boise, ID.- In a change of venue, the Northwest RCT will be heading to Boise Idaho for its 2018 installment and will bring with it the same level of intensity and play that has made it one of the toughest RCTs in the country. With six different states represented and every tier having at least five teams competing it is shaping up to be a scintillating weekend of youth rugby.

In the boy's division Tier 1 will have three pools with a total of ten teams competing. There is an overwhelming presence of Northern Californian rugby teams in this Tier with thirty percent of its make up coming from the upper parts of California. The rest of the pool is made up of mostly teams from the Pacific North with Washington and Oregon featuring heavily. Northern California Rugby should be one of the top teams in the competition, given it is a hot bed for talent, but the Washington Loggers will also prove to be a tough test for any team that comes up against them. The second Tier will also see ten teams participate, but will have a heavier Utah influence with multiple teams coming in to try their arm in Boise. It will be an evenly contested division, with no clear favorites.

For the girls, Tier one will see seven teams compete with Rugby Northern California fielding two teams. While they may have he depth, they will be tested vehemently by their opposition including strong squads put out by the Utah Cannibals and Idaho's own Greywolves.  The second Tier for the girls will only have one pool in it but the pool is fiercely competitive with Washington, the Oregon Redhawks and Rugby Northern California all fielding sides. While, it may be too close to call the results this year will certainly lead into creating some strong rivalries between the programs when they'll meet again next year in Tier 1.

The Northwest RCT runs from June 22-23.
