USA Rugby Confirms Men’s National Team to Play Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin

Men’s Eagles announce one of three road matches of November tour

LAFAYETTE, CO. - The No. 15 U.S. Men's National Team (15s) will play No. 2 Ireland at Aviva Stadium on November 24th as part of their fall tour, USA Rugby confirmed today. Part of a four game November schedule, the Men's Eagles will open with a match against the Maori All Blacks at Soldier Field in Chicago; then face two nations to be named later on the road before closing out the season with the Irish in Dublin. The match kicks off at 2:30 PM ET with broadcast info updated closer to date.

"Playing the No. 2 team in the world at their home - Aviva Stadium, is a thrilling proposition for our team. A remarkable venue in a city Americans love to visit, it should make for a riveting encounter," said Dave Hodges, General Manager for the Men's 15s Programs.

The contest will serve as the Men's Eagles first appearance since 2004 at Aviva Stadium. They last faced their Irish foes in 2017 at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey where Ireland walked away with a 19-55 win. The USA has picked up steam, however, recently boasting an astounding 30-29 upset of No. 6 Scotland which has nations across the world making note of the growing threat presented by the Eagles on the pitch.

Prior to facing Ireland, the United States will begin their Fall schedule at Soldier Field in Chicago on November 3rd, with an exhibition match against the Maori All Blacks. The game will be part of a three match tripleheader also featuring the Women's National Team (15s) against the Black Ferns and the Eagles soon-to-be opponent Ireland taking on Italy.

After the short home affair, the Eagles will head to Europe for two test matches to be announced later, completing their currently undefeated 2018 season in Dublin.

The match is set for 2:30 PM ET at Aviva Stadium with broadcast information updated closer to date.
