The weekend will serve as a dual certification process allowing those in attendance to gain a World Rugby or USA Rugby training and education accreditation. This is the first year that USA Rugby will be offering a certification of their own. USA Rugby's certification will be aimed at members of the community that are interested in taking their first steps towards becoming an educator.

Over the course of the weekend, courses will be taught for educators interested in training referees, coaches and strength and conditioning instructors. Leading these courses will be a succession of internationally renowned experts in their respective fields.

Instructors Include:

- Darby Bailey- local advocate for female rugby initiatives

- Gene Tong- Regional Training Manager, World Rugby Asia

- Paul Hunter- Manger of Coach Development- Rugby Canada

- Pete Steinberg- Former Eagles Head Coach and WR Educator

 -Mike Luke- Regional Training Manager

- Dana Teagarden- International Referee, analyst and referee coach

"The Education Weekend is important as it's going to bring educators from around the world and around the country together to share best practices and exciting ideas." USA Rugby Training and Education Director, Kenny Forehand mentioned, "We can never stop exploring and finding ways to meet the needs of our membership."

Topics to be covered throughout the weekend include: Recruiting and retaining more women in rugby, unified Rugby (mixed ability), along with an intro to the new certification course, regional training comparisons and best practices.

"We are going to expand this idea to include other regions of the country and leverage all resources we have within the membership of USA Rugby." Forehand continued, "The regional Education Weekends will help us meet the ever-changing needs of the membership and keep our educators up to date to make those opportunities as dynamic as possible."
