2019 USA Rugby’s Regional Cup Tournaments Locations Confirmed

The 2019 USA Rugby's Regional Cup Tournaments (RCTs) locations have been confirmed. The RCTs are an annual competition, that began running in 2003, to provide America’s youth athletes with the opportunity to showcase their rugby skills, gain exposure High School All American selectors as well as collegiate recruitment.

“Each tournament puts a big focus on inviting and encouraging colleges to attend their tournaments and see high-level rugby from across the country. Giving players a valuable opportunity to be in front of college coaches and reps” said Karen Fong Donoghue, Owner & Founder of The Ruggers Edge. Colleges can sign up to attend the tournaments and recruit players at usarugby.org/rct.

Additionally, the RCT provides a place for players to see how they compare to other athletes in similar age groups across the country. “I think it’s a great educational moment for a player who may be the top player in their region to go up against a top team and see how they truly stack up” Fong Donoghue explained.

"High School boys and girls get to test themselves and showcase their talents in front of college recruiters and national team selectors, all in one place" Brendan Keane, USA Rugby Boys High School All American team coach added.

Each RCT has two Divisions for both boys and girls, Tier 1 which will primarily be comprised of Juniors and Seniors and Tier 2 which will be primarily comprised of Freshmen and Sophomores. More Eligibility requirements can be found HERE.
