Williams was inducted into the 2018 class of the U.S. Rugby Foundation Hall of Fame. She became only the fifth woman to be inducted into the U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame. She was a two-time forwards captain and was named to the 1989 New England Rugby Football Union Collegiate Select Side and 1991 NERFU Senior All-Star Team.

Williams won her first National Club Championship with Beantown RFC in 1991 and was twice named Club Championship Most Valuable Player. She moved to California in 2000 and helped the Berkeley All Blues win four National Club titles. She appeared in three Rugby World Cups (1994, 1998, and 2002), Canada Cups (1993, 1996, 2000), the Australia Tour of 1997, and the annual Saranac Can-Am in 2000. She was also named the Forwards coach for the 2006 and 2010 Rugby World Cups.
