When and how did you start playing rugby?
I was looking for a sport to help me stay in shape while I was in college at River Falls, WI. It was there in 1999 that I came across the rugby team, that was the day my life changed. I fell in love with the sport immediately.
What is the best thing about being a USA pool player?
To be surrounded by the best players and coaches in the nation and to be a part of that is like a dream come true to me, attending the training camps has improved my skill sets and understanding of the elite game immensely. The support offered by the coaching team in regards to fitness and nutrition regimes is fantastic.
Significant Non-Rugby Achievements
I have dedicated my life over the past 14/15 years to rugby, but this has brought me some fantastic opportunities outside the game. I have been fortunate to make many friends across the world. I have spent months in Sweden, followed by the best part of a year in Wales. There is a fraternity in our sport that extends across the globe and cannot be found playing anything else.
What does representing your country mean to you?
It's hard to put into words exactly how much representing the USA means to me, it is simply everything. Through the long training sessions, through the bad times when I have been injured has been the driving force to achieving my life's goal and become an Eagle.
