An All-American with experience in three varsity sports at Jesuit High School and a four-time Collegiate All-American, Blaine Scully is undoubtedly a standout athlete. Lettering in basketball, swimming and water polo in high school -- earning All-American honors in swimming and water polo -- Scully moved into his rugby career in college where he immediately made an impact.

In addition to two National Championships with Cal, and a captancy with the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans touring squad, Scully competed in sevens at the Collegiate Rugby Championship where he lead Cal to a second-place finish in 2010 and earned a spot on the All Tournament Team in 2011.

That same year, Scully earned his first official cap with the Men's Eagles, joining the squad for their 2011 match against Russia in Worcester. There, he made a significant impression on Eagle coaches and earned a place on the 2011 Rugby World Cup squad, staring three matches with a total of four appearances.

In 2013, he began his professional career overseas with the Leicester Tigers where he remained for two years.

In 2015, he served as Vice Captain for the Men's Eagles during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, also transitioning in his professional career to join the Cardiff Blues.

In 2016, Scully earned his full captaincy with the Men's National Team during the inaugural Americas Rugby Championship at the senior level, continuing to lead his squad to make history with two consecutive tournament titles in 2017 and 2018.
