Paul Lasike was born in New Zealand and began playing rugby as a kid. He went to college in the United States where he played both football and rugby for Brigham Young University (BYU). Following his collegiate career, Lasike was signed as an undrafted free agent with the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, then went on to his appointment on the practice squad for the Chicago Bears which ultimately earned him a spot on their active roster.

In January of 2018, Lasike made his official return to rugby and was selected to travel with the Men's Eagles for the 2018 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC). There, he earned his first cap in spectacular fashion, scoring a try off the bench in the Eagles' 45-13 win over Chile, also helping the team to a 5-0 run and second consecutive title victory in the ARC.
